Should have an undergraduate degree in Engineering in any specialization or Mathematics or Science, or a degree in Statistics

At least 4- 6years of experience

Must have worked in the FMCG, or Pharma industry
Job Purpose
Job holder will be responsible for the collation of all demand forecasts for the groups’ customers across the world, working on statistical models to improve forecasting accuracy and working with internal stakeholders to build more accurate forecasts. They will be responsible for the S&OP process with a set of customers, to ensure that they are fully aware of the sales situation so that they can accordingly work on improving forecast accuracy as much as possible.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Review historical sales trends, develop statistical forecast models, create forecast data with demand drivers, and evaluate forecast accuracy.
- Validation of forecasts from group companies and ensuring statistically vetted forecast goes into system.
- Analyze product demand in order to develop forecasts by week, month, and quarter at Global/Group company level
- Regular meetings and contact with sales team, to ensure that they are full aware of any changes in demand
- Owning the S&OP process for their customer set.
- Working on providing data analysis to the sales team, to allow them to build better forecasts
- Forecasts with market trends and fluctuations; offers recommendations for changes and improvements.
- Maintenance of master hygiene for finished goods, liaise with MPS to track availabilities of these goods
- Ensure all new product availability is made on time in order to have timely launches
- Maintain finished goods inventory as per company norms, execute inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stockholdings.
- Identification of slow moving/non-moving inventories and take this up with the companies for liquidation.
- Develop metrics to monitor inventory levels through regular reviews.
- Active planning for New Product launches and follow-up for repeat orders
- Generating MIS reports pertaining to Service Level/Sales Analysis.
- Close coordination with Customers to enhance sales and avoid sales loss.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods, production scheduling with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
- Must have worked in a core Demand Planning role.
- Must have come from the Personal Care, or Pharma industry.
- Strong Technical knowledge related to forecasting & demand planning
- The incumbent should be very good at Excel.
- Should be well versed with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards (Oracle).
- Able to deal with large data sets and determine patterns and trends.
- Must have very strong analytical skills.
- Should have strong written and verbal English language skills
